Respect for nature is at the heart of our business. The company has a very strong philosophy of environmental sustainability driven by its owner’s and management team. Our harvesting operations are carefully researched and planned so that nature is not diminished in any way. We work on the principle of sustained yield, and only harvest what nature can renew every year.
The company and its sites are fully accredited members of MPS achieving the highest grades of the standard.
The company is and has supported several programs of environmental research in woodland and cultivated foliages. As a result of this research we have developed a unique production system using bio-degradable membrane which minimises chemical weed control.
Wherever we operate we have sought out projects to support local nature. An example of this is where we recently planted over 1,000 oak, birch, and ash trees in Queen Scotia’s Glen, County Kerry, Ireland.
We are also significant contributors to the UK National Trust and Irish heritage forests programs.
The Company specifically uses the following techniques to manage the environment in our sites:

MPS is a certification programme that was designed to reduce the environmental impact of the floriculture sector and improve the sector's image. MPS started in 1993 as a regional project in the Westland area of Holland. It has since developed and has currently over 5000 members worldwide.
MPS A, B, C and Participant - Every month growers, including ourselves record their usage of pesticides, fertilisers, energy and water usage. This information is then sent to MPS where the data is processed and participants are awarded points for each theme based on consumption over 4 quarters.
Growers are regularly audited to ensure that they meet the standards required of the certification they hold.
